Yes, despite what some people seem to think there is a marked difference in feel between jumbo frets and a scalloped fretboard. FYI the Malsteen strat has jumbo frets and is scalloped. Members 6StringSling Posted October 18, 2007 Members Share Posted October 18, 2007 I don't see how you guys can play those scalloped boards - my ESP LTD F-50 has jumbos on it and I stopped playing it until I get it refretted because I can't play an open D chord without the G string (note A) going sharp and making the whole guitar sound out of tune.
