Members guitarstar81
I doubt any guitar tech makes $5K per week.Really, that's a quarter mil a year.Doubtful.Highly doubtful. well, I know plenty of techs for much smaller bands make betwenn $1k-$2k a week, I don't think it's really that much of a stretch to think that a tech for a huge band like Van Halen could make significantly more than that. Although, at that point, they don't just hire anyone. They hire the best of the best.

Members aliensporebomb
The issue in question was a DAT recorder with pre-recorded synth tracks(that Ed did play) were played back at the incorrect sample rate. You can hear the effect of it almost being like a harmonizer - it's not onlyfaster but the pitch is incorrect. DAT recorders have two position sample playback switches and you'dhave to be an idiot not to notice, the sound was too high and thin forit to be correct. sigh.
