Members Faber
How much of a difference does it make to the sound to have the front PU moved slightly further towards the bridge? I know that a true "vintage" spec require the neck pu to be at the octave. But does it actually make a difference that makes a difference?
Members tidalwaveGB
I assume you are talking about how a single coil in the neck position will sound? I would recommend trying out a Jackson Dinky model, with a single coil in the neck. That should give you an idea. Same wood, same scale length, but with 24 frets. EDIT: nevermind, there's probably too many variables on the Jackson to be able to tell for sure. However, I can tell you that on my 24-fret guitars, the neck position pickup sounds "snappier", if that makes any sense, as opposed to my 22 fret guitars. Members Faber
Yeah sorry should have made that clear. I'm talking about the "all things being equal" argument of placing the front sc a little further back. I could see how that would make it snappier. Thanks
