Members brewgoodbeer
This is kind of an ethical question as well as a quality question. If you use Sibelius on a regular basis, is it better to record the song into ProTools or to export a midi file, load instruments and go from there. Maybe use the midi tracks for a demo and then re-record for a final product. What are your thoughts on exporting midi tracks from Sibelius into protools? Members brewgoodbeer
A side note to this thread. I have not done this yet, and I am wondering how things will come out. It should work easily. However I fear it will be a very mechanical recording.
Members amplayer
I can't really comment about Sibelius since I am a Finale user.Nevertheless, I will say that it is very time consuming to start the writing process in a program that is designed for notation. I find I am much more efficient if I start in a DAW program and then output standard MIDI for the notation program only if I need to produce a score or parts. I know Sibelius has come a long way to making this a better process, so maybe it's not as bad as Finale.
