I have a squier mini, black, plywood.

I have a Korean squier and squier II, both blackk and plywood

My met red affinity is basswood

My Black Standard is basswood, I think.

Bullets I have seen in the pawnshop vary.

One way to tell on older guitars and some new ones, is look at the back where the body contour for your hip is cut. Plywood expands, contracts, expands, and after a while, you can see the feathered layers in the finish in this area if you hold it to the light just right. Of course, taking the backplate off tells you instantly, but this is just one step in the algorhythm of indentification.

The new ones are basswood. The old single-pickup Bullet Specials were plywood.

A fellow group member on FB just sanded down one of these Bullet Specials strat thingys [one humbucker], not plywood or flat laminated plys. Nope. Its solid wood blocks sistered/glued like butcher block. 4-5 pcs.
