Members cebix
You know about 0:30 starts the part when he plays he just gets instant harmonics(not his famous pinch harmonics), how does he do that? Is that some kind of effect, or just from his hands? Thanks.

Oh and cheap D: there's just one I know of, and it's not exactly cheap... but well worth it if you need that kind of effect. http://www.fernandesguitars.com/sustainer.html
Members GibsonQC
That's not a pedal--as StomboxLover mentioned---look at the neck pickup in the beginning of the vid. He either has a Fernandes Sustainer or Sustainiac driver in there. Sustainiac will create one for you, and make it pretty customisable for your install. I think they're around $250 for the custom-tailored kits. Fernandes Sustainers come in "off the shelf" kits that may/may not work for your install, and are around $225, I believe. SBL posted the link for the Sustainer, here's the Sustainiac: http://www.sustainiac.com/st-pro.htm
Members Lefty's Ghost
Yep, it's a sustainer. For hardcore Van Halen fans, they would rather not ever see him use the thing again.

It did seem like a Sustainer advertisement/jam, rather than an actual song. But, who am I to criticize?
