Members Capricorn
is it possible to do this since locking tuners cut the string without the string wrapping around the post much?
Members mnhhngbfs
yup, it's possible.you still decide how much slack to leave on the string before you tune it up.
Members Capricorn
but don't locking tuners cut the string straight away? how far down can you detune because i often use some pretty weird tunings bottom E sometimes goes down to C
Members Vanhalen64
locking tuners just tighten the grip of the string inside the eyelet of the tuner. you can decide how much of the string is on both sides of the eyelet, you still have to wind it after you tighten the locking tuner hence you can have any tuning you want. Members benzem
Yup. Just tried it. The tuning peg turns very little to go from e to c
Members Capricorn
so detuning isn't a problem then?
Members axepilot
I always like to have at least one full wrap around the peg with locking tuners - that much more stabile, and you never know when you might have to drop the tuning.
