Members stratrat
Hi all Can anyone point me in the direction of better than usual Strat style "boat" jack plates? I'm looking for something for a high end build and can't find anything better than the same kind of "cookie-cutter" plates with obvious casting and tool marks under the chrome. D'Pergo have some nice looking plates, but don't respond to my emails.
Members Ryan Trevisol
Well callaham has one and they're reputed for having high quality metals. Though for only $5 I bet they're not making it themselves. DiMarzio also makes one, they're probably worth a shot. I've never been sure what the difference was between "Dimarzio style" jackplate and a regular one. . . .
Members stratrat
Thanks! Unfortunately both the Callaham and DiMarzio are pretty generic plates. I'm looking for something like this: That's a D'Pergo. I got an answer back from them finally and they do not sell any of their hardware or pickups without a guitar attached. Members Ryan Trevisol
What's so special about it? I'm guessing you could polish the edges of a standard one and have it look pretty goood. . . .
Members stratrat
It's thicker plate, it's straighter, has sharper edges, the recesses are deeper so the screws sit properly flush, has no tooling or casting marks showing through the finish. Also has a nice matt finish.
