Wiring a resistor/capacitor in place of a tone pot?

Wiring gurus - is there a way to wire a resistor/capacitor in place of a tone pot. I recently dropped new pickups in a guitar with only a volume pot, and the sound is a little harsh.

It's very easy, just solder a 500k resistor in series with a .022 cap from your hot, to ground. You can do it at the volume pot or even at the jack. That will be exactly like having a tone control always on ten.

I did it for a hundred people who wanted the 80s look, but didn't have the high end killing racks...
