I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on building a single humbucker guitar out of my old Squier. I just got all the electronics (the one volume knob and two wires haha) earlier today and now I'm looking for the pickup I want to use. My favorite sound is the early 1980 metal sound (Motley Crue, Scorpions, you know...). I'm running a Screamin Demon in the bridge position of my main guitar and wanted something similar in my Squier build. I started went to the GFS website to see what they had when I noticed they got new humbuckers. The VEH which are a play for EVH. They seems pretty tight and the sound clip sounds good. Anyone actually tried these? I want to give GFS pickups a chance to see if they are any good. Anyways any info on how these sound would be great. Thanks!
