Members jonj3
HELP! I just pulled my 2015 Danelectro 12-string electric out of the closet after about a year. I had loosened all the strings to lower the tension for storage. But when I started to tune the strings, I noticed many of the strings are actually touching the frets, even as I use the tuners to tighten them. What could have happened? I don't see a noticeable bow in the neck. Last time I played this guitar, the action was great and it played great. Any ideas where to start? Members mrbrown49
You loosened the strings but did you loosen the truss rod too? If not the rod was pulling back bow into the neck the whole time it was stored. let it sit under tension for a few days to see if it comes back inline. in general the idea of loosening tension for storage is a bad one for this very reason. Guitar necks are designed to be under tension.
