Members Dendy Jarrett
There are so many examples of strings being used in contemporary music in the last 40 years. Here was one that surfaced yesterday. It is hard to believe that this was in 1999. Where does time go? The Corrs from MTV unplugged (you know ... back when they showed stuff related to music) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nCq9Yo8Y3E&sns=fb
Members Dendy Jarrett
Here is another memorable contemporary performance with tremendous strings. Faith Hill (the entire DVD) from 2003. With the great Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and Bekka Bramlett on background vocals. Such a great DVD.
Members Dendy Jarrett
Another great example of a contemporary (and timeless) rock act that utilized lots of strings. This 2001 Electric Light Orchestra tour featuring my favorite drummer, Gregg Bissonette. The strings in this play such a large part of making ELO who they were and distinguished their sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSXHE3UTgQ8
