Members fokus2k3
Hey guys, I was wondering if you know of any tube power amps out there that are in the 20-25 watt range or so. Thanks
Members Xenoanthropus
Mesa 20/20 Stereo. 40w, 20 per side. That's probably the lowest out there.

Members Fire Breather
There's also the Marshall EL84-20/20 power amp. Similar in functions to the Mesa. Here's the link..... http://www.marshallamps.com/product.asp?productCode=EL84-20-

Members WRGKMC
I may be wrong, but I don't think having 20 watts per side makes it a 40-watt power amp. Sure it does. All stereo equipment is rated for the combo of the two sides. Always has been. I think you're confusing a mono amp using one or two speakers. In that case the overall wattage may remain the same. (except for certain power amps that vary with impediance. Some have a maximum wattage at a low impediance) Having your guilar plugged into 2X100w guitar heads running one cab each equals 200w total power and is about twice as loud as a single amp. Its the same for running a guitar through a 200w stereo head running a single cab on each. For PA type heads for example my Crown is 1000w bridged mono or 500W per side run unbridged in stereo. My peavey is 500W bridged or 250 per side, and even my Alesis 150 reference head is 75w per side 150W total. Most transistor type power amps with a variable load will also have different power ratings for different loads. My Crown will have 500w per side at 2 ohms and like 375W or something like that at 8 ohms. Tube amps are different in that aspect. They use a transformer taps to match impediance so the wattage should remain consistant if its being applied properly.
Members ck3
Are there any low-wattage tube power amps with more affordable pricetags than the Marshall and Mesa Boogie models?
