Members Thumbelina
I'm looking for a program to compose music. I like using traditional notation. I've been advised - Cue Base. Any Preferences?
Members amplayer
If you really like to compose with standard notation, my opinion is that only Finale or Sibelius will do.However, if you like to play in the parts and then look at them in standard notation, then get a good DAW software program like Sonar or Nuendo, and then maybe ALSO get Finale or Sibelius. Most of the DAW programs now have reasonable notation views, but they are only a view, not acceptable notation for the most part. I do use the notation view in my sequencer software for occasional edits. But for real notation that I'd give to somebody else, I export to a MIDI file and then import into Finale and spend a LOT of time getting it right.
