Members rasputin1963
It's no secret I'm a huge Motown fan. (When I finally met Mary Wilson of the Supremes, I was all grovelling on the floor, "I'm not WORTHY!!" ) I'm sure many of you are familiar with these four records from the "middle" vintage of the Motown sound: "Reach Out, I'll Be There" by The Four Tops "Bernadette" by The Four Tops "Reflections" by The Supremes "Love Child" by The Supremes ...and other big Motown singles from this period. Anyway, they all feature this kind of knee-slapping sound as a percussive sonority. At least it sounds simply like knee-slapping. Any of you know the sound I'm talking about... What is it? Members Kiwiburger
If it sounds like knee slapping, it probably is. Many artists have used knee slapping on records. I was watching a old McCartney documentary where he was recording some knee slapping. Well, thigh slapping really. You sit in a chair and slap your thighs like bongos.
