  • Show me your clear guitars.

I don't really think I'm going to get one, but the Galveston in the SPAM thread got me pinin' to see some cool designs, so show me some clear guitars... they don't even have to be YOURS.

For the sound of the Dan Armstrong through powerful tube amps (Ampeg SVTs!), listen to Keith Richards on "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!" and in the film "Gimme Shelter". A very, powerful midrange bite, especially when using the RT (Rock Treble) pickup:

Guitars: Ampeg Dan Armstrongs, Fender Telecasters, Stratocasters, Epiphone Les Paul, G-400, EG-1275, Dots, Gibson SG, Squier Stratocasters, Telecasters, OLP MM1s, etc.Amps: Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50/1960A, Ampeg VL-502/VLA, Music Man HD150 212, etc.Effects: Vox ToneLab SE, etc.Influences: Keith Richards, Mick Taylor, Ronnie Wood, Paul Kantner, Eric Clapton, Rich Robinson, Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, The Edge, etc.

Kinda hard, not very warm. I have a purple transparent Galveston LP copy on the way. I figured it would be my Prince guitar, especially for PURPLE RAIN. Similar to this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/Lucite-Electric-Guitar-Deep-Purple-Retro-Body-Gold-Hdwr_W0QQitemZ330220654085
