  • Recommend me a good scales/modes/theory book

Seeing as it's my b-day tomorrow i got a$50 gift card to guitar center.

I've been looking to really get into theory and scales/modes and have seen a bunch of books in the store.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated

    This is a great one,

    http://www.amazon.com/Paul-Gilbert-Intense-Rock-Vol/dp/0739040375

It's not just for shredders, the way that he cover modes and scales is useful to all guitarist.

This one here is a great book,

    http://www.amazon.com/The-Advancing-Guitarist-Mick-Goodrick/dp/0881885894/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1360457274&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=advancing+guitarist

And here is Satch almighty waxing on modes and scales ( I love this lesson),

    And more gold,

Satch, I ****************ing love you, but bro.  You got to nix the chicken foot thing.

    Besides being a guitar player,
I'm a big fan of the guitar.
    I love that damn instrument.
