Members Cougar Hunter
I picked up one of these puppies for $26. Kit Rae says it's like an 850 in a soundtank case. (made in taiwan, of course) The guts are legit, and it sounds like a Ram's Head Muff. Outstanding.
Members nightraven
^^ not quite, it needs a couple of modifications to become an OD-850 but yes it's the equivalent of that pedal in the Soundtank series
Members Edkoppel
yeah, if you can find an original D&S they are much cheaper than the Ibanez OD850/ but exactly the same pedal! I did a comparison of them here: http://tonemachines.blogspot.com/2011/04/maxon-d-od-801-vs-ibanez-overdrive-od.html maxon ibanez The Maxon is actually a little bit louder and not as muddy in the low end. It really sounds like a mix between a Rams Head/Triangle/Sovtek Muff. pretty cool sounding. but the reissues kind of suck.

Members AddEmUp
I just got a D&S II and I like it. I have been playing classic rock for years and have tried all kinds of distortion pedals, most I have not liked, but this one I do. It has the hard driving rock distortion that is more open, transparent than others. I don't care for the fully saturated, metal distortion pedals that suck out your tone and don't cut through the mix. This pedal has a nice tone and can stand up to the mix. The sustain is an added +++
