The amp head has out-puts of 4, 8, and 16 ohms. With the 16 ohm speaker, if you use the 8 or 4 ohm outputs from the head you get this awesome overdrive from the amp. However, having a 4 ohm speaker and using a 8 or 16 ohm amp head out is fine.
