  • Metronome app for iPhone?

I've read a dozen metronome app reviews and can't decide. Mostly because what I'm looking for often isn't mentioned. Does anyone know of an iPhone mentronome app that >>>

    1 - Has a natural/sampled sound? I hate computerized clicks and noises.

2 - Will play not just 1-2-3-4 with emphasis on the one, but also 1-and-2-and-3-and-4-and with emphasis on the one and only the one? (In a perfect world, there'd be a nome to emphasize 2-4 for us reggae nuts.)

3 - Will let me control the volume of the emphasized beat?

4 - Is not very expensive?

So this doesn't really address your question, but I downloaded "Metronome Pro" for free and it works in a pinch. The freeware version of it for the iPhone is some basic stuff, but has some control variation.

Maybe mess with that until you find something you like better?

That being said, your questions sound like you're an experienced metronome user, so maybe not.

Actually, the situation is that, out of several metronomes I've tried, the first had one nice feature, the second had another, etc.

Seems rather silly that with such a basic concept, I'm still looking. I wonder how many of the metronome app makers are actually musicains?

Have a look at Tempo Advance. Some of the features might work for you. I've had it on my 4S since late last year. http://www.frozenape.com/tempoadvance.html

That's the one that i was thinking of, and I'm pretty sure it's the one Dandy mentioned.

Last time the M question came up Dendy mentioned he used a phone app of some kind that did the trick although I can't recall what it was.
