about a drummer who speeds up?

current band i'm with is cycling through drummers.  first one slowed down, second one kept time but never played to the song, always overplaying.  now the drummer speeds everything up.

Sounds Familiar...  Our drummer is fixated on the metronome lights on his digital set.  he will constantly remind us that we played it 64bpm last time and 2 beats slower this time.  or singer / guitar player will start out with perfect time for the rest of us but when drums come in he is already 10 bpm faster or slower than everyone else started...  No one will stand up to him but me and it causes a lot of tension in the group.

i've only been in the band 6 weeks so i don't feel it's my place to stop songs and criticize the drummer for speeding up.  guitarist brought him in, hopefully he's hearing it as well.

If you are playing covers, pump the original into the mixer and let him play along with the song a few times.
