Members danosongs
My own Website, and that's the only place I care about getting traffic to. I no longer provide myspace, facebook and all the others my content and traffic for free so they can put it on their balance sheets. I'll care about those sites when they start paying royalties. Members MusicGuy101
Man I love all those sites. I think it's pretty fair. You get new people to hear your music and discover you who may have never found you otherwise, and in return they make a few bucks on some advertisement. I also figure if you feel you're making them so much money, you're probably signed to a descent label which most of them, at least for You Tube, have licensing agreements where they are paid a portion of the advertisement according to the amount of views/clicks they are making for them as far as I understand. I know some people are a lot touchier on the subject though so I'm only speaking for myself and respect those who don't believe the new potential fans are worth it. Besides MySpace and YouTube, I'm just guessing Facebook, iLike, GarageBand, maybe Last FM would be up there too but miles away from something like MySpace. Members kurdy
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but Myspace lately seems to be turning into a ghost town. Maybe it's because it's demographic has gotten younger than when it started. But most of my "friends" consist of people in their 20s and 30s, and among them, there seems to be hardly any activity anymore. Seems like Myspace's day has passed and people have moved on. At least people who are older than 18. Not a big fan of Facebook, as I'm not really interested in reconnecting with my college "friends". Plus, it really isn't as music-oriented as Myspace is. I've got two pages on Myspace, one personal, and one for my music. I rarely bother to log into my music account anymore, since all I really get is spam, and add requests from other bands I've never heard of. So I suppose the question is: where's everyone moved on to?

Members kurdy
I noticed that too... Yeah, my guess is that Facebook has sort of become the new hub for social activity among the 20-and-up crowd. Which is bad news for bands.

Which is bad news for bands. I'm not so sure about Facebook. Seems to me the buzz is over too. Its fun at first to meet with people you haven't spoken to in years, but after a little while, you realize you have nothing to say to them. Members Poker99
Facebook has never been that great for bands anyway. So what's the new buzz?
Members nwtsnma
in terms of plays as opposed to browsing traffic, probably last.fm
Members Dave Keir
Facebook has never been that great for bands anyway. So what's the new buzz? I think the new buzz is the old news: Webite / SEO / promotions / radio plays / OMDs / gigs / CDs / merchandize / press-releases / blogging / podcasting / networking / phone-calls / press-kits / .... No silver bullets yet, but I'm an eternal optimist.
