Members fkarol
This is me doing a recent pop tune and a classic 80ties track. They're acapelle and I haven't got a great microphone. But I am very curious what you think and advice you might got for me. I haven't got any experience whatsoever so don't expect too much! Members DukeOfBoom
i think it's fine considering you recognize you're a beginner. there are a couple people on here who post clips saying, "I'm such a great vocalist even though I'm a beginner & I've had no lessons." But when you listen to they're clips they're horrendous.
Members grace_slick
Who are these people you speak of, Duke? lol I seem to notice the beginners who post usually range from not too bad to pretty good and they are very humble.

Members reubenpaul
Well done on posting clips on here. I'm a newbie too and haven't been brave enough yet! Although mine would be complete with accompaniments so I think you are even braver to post vocal only clips! I think you should certainly stick at it and look to improve the lower notes. What did you record it on? Did you add a reverb effect or double track in places? Members YeahDoIt
I think "In My Arms" is not bad. Your voice is pleasant enough, and your pitch is mostly good. I encourage you to keep working at it, try different songs, different voices. You might study singing with internet videos and library books to avoid throat injury as you sing longer, louder and explore your range. Is english your native language? Your accent sounds like you live in the USA.
Members fkarol
@ Reubenpaul I recorded it on my laptop with audacity lol and I used echo on a few places but it's mostly double recorded. Thanks for the advice @ YeahDoIt I'm 100% dutch but thanks it's a great compliment! I'll definitly try more songs and voices(perhaps any suggestions?). I really want to learn so thanks everyone made my day!
Members grace_slick
I'd lose the echo and double tracking etc, just for this forum because it's a bit more difficult for us to be able to tell how you sound and where you could improve and stuff, you know? You've got a nice voice...I only listened to the first link. It's a soft kinda "easy" light voice...what kind of music do you like listening to and singing best? Mainly stuff like this kind of song? Ok! thanks! I'll lose em Well I listen to alot of music but it's mainly pop. A few artists who came across my playlist; Prince, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Alphabeat, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Goldfrapp, George Micheal, Justin Timberlake, Lily Allen, M.I.A., Madonna,Pink, Scissor sisters, shakira...It's kinda mainstream but I'm always open for anything. I don't really know what songs suit me honestly! I usually just sing along with everything. Anything that isn't Beyonce/Christina belting lol or as low as Tom Waits?
