Members bebenavole
Heya! I am looking for a device wich could serve me as a sampler/sequencer/synth/rhythm machine.WORKSTATION. I am a singer , guitar player, songwriter. I am NOT really a key-player, so everything I do I kinda layer out to make things simpler.Basic stuff. So far I have used KORG D1200mkII DAW recorder and a Roland XP10synth. And I managed to come up with interesting recordings. Its very limiting but I kinda dig it. The things killing me are, the fact i have to drum out all the drums by hand, one take prefferably. And the editing on the Korg is hiddious. Meaning, you have to ride the dial wheel for days just to set the IN and OUT markers. So Ive looked all over the net to see what r my options. I see that both KORG Triton Extreme and Roland Fantom x6 would fit the bill.I watched all the promo vids on the net but it doesn really show you the details. I would like to hear from you wat do you think of these 2 workstations, and I am open to all suggestions, ofcourse! These r the linx to my music, so feel free: www.myspace.com/bebenavole http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=291751 I would like to bypass the use of PC as much as possible, dont ask. a. Members GigMan
1. Go to music store 2. Go to keyboard dept. 3. Check out Big 3 workstations: 4. Decide which one you like the best for various reasons: user interface, quality/selection of sounds, keyboard action, no. of keys (61/76/88) etc... 5. Buy the one you decide works best for you. The only person that can tell you which workstation is right for you... is you!
Members GigMan
...however, I will add the following: Yamaha's Motif ES series seem to universally praised for their reproduction of acoustic & orchestral instruments. Korg's Triton Extreme series seems to be widely praised for use in hip-hop production. Roland's Fantom series seems to fall somewhere in between the two. Members bebenavole
I would if they had em, and if they do they have people working there that have no clue about the stuff theyre selling. This is why i am asking.I know I could prolly use anything, but If I am investing in this I would like to know what to generally expect. Ill check out Yamaha....
