Members Unfed Posted July 21, 2007 Members Share Posted July 21, 2007 these things are only really useful to have if you own an akai ax series keyboard and want to route it as another oscillator. otherwise sell it and get something better. not true necessarily... the s612's real-time control for sample start/end points is unmatched. don't expect too much, but it's a fun toy for experimenting. the filter is nice and creamy, with maybe a bit of fixed resonance(?). the tone of the s612 for string/pad samples is quite pleasing as well, and you can get some nice sounds by setting the loop points manually.
