Members Zjos Posted October 30, 2007 Members Share Posted October 30, 2007 Goodday to all, After years of doing anything with music except for having a band, I'll finaly be able to work with a motivated group of musicians and create our own sound. But I do not have the right material yet. I play the keys, and own at this moment only the YAMAHA PSR 740 keyboard. I do not have a hughe budget, let say around 400 euro's to spend, and am looking for something like a analogous synth. Since I want to be able to create my own sounds that will caracterize the songs.. I definatly want to make use of two rows of keys, option Midi makes most sense to me now. Is there any of you who would like to give me some advise on this , since I'm new in the synth-world, and definatly want to buy something usefull... Yes that is very good way to go as this lets you play diff parts on each synth together without the restraint youd have with single keyboard. Irregardless of haw much splitting and layering ability each synth has. At you budget point can only suggest used synths from 90's and before as best choice to scout around for at various walk in stores in your area. Try everything used that you can. They're made in Europe, so perhaps will be more plentiful there? Same with the Novation KS4 and Nova series. Check out www.vintagesynth.com for detailed information. Since I already own the Yamaha, which is a very reliable keyboard and good quality for its time, I only really need a small synth to create sounds like I can't with the keyboard. I have read a lot about the Alesis Ion, whats up with that synt?If there are some names of old synths you can advise me, I'll look at all selling spots to check those out..
