My new year's resolution is to finally replace my otherwise beloved P250 with something that will suit me as well but without all that heft; I'm sick of hauling around such a heavy board. So I'm looking for suggestions. I play mostly honky-tonk style country rock, some blues, some folk/folk-rock. I'm used to the weighted keys of the P250 so I'll stick with that as a requirement; I don't need sequencing or heavy duty programming; mostly I'm looking for very high quality acoustic piano sounds and their variations, good rhodes and wurly and some decent jazz or rock organ voices. My only other requirement, as far as a must have item, would be relative ease of use for live performance (changing voices on the fly, ease of effects inserts, etc). Currently playing through a Traynor K4, which I'm quite happy with.

My ideal would be to shed about 25 lbs of equipment which basically means I'm looking for a board that is less than 50 lbs. I tried the P90, which was billed to me as a 250 without the added weight of the amp and speakers, but find that the voices and live sound are nowhere near as good as the 250.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Thanks for the recommendation on the CP33. I had considered this but I'm concerned that the CP33 is little more than an updated version of the P90, which I'm not too happy with in live performance situations. Are these two models significantly different? As mentioned in my OP, I'm not thrilled with the sounds I'm getting live with the P90, as opposed to the P250, about which I love everything except the weight.

Thanks again.

It's my understanding that the CP33 is a speaker-less (and a few other feature-light) version of the current CP300...which is a generation newer than your P250.

If anything, the CP33 should sound more *updated* than your P250...for less bulk and $$.
