Members yan_g
Hello, I need to add some effects to my synth rig and want to use my Line 6 POD for chorus/reverb and have also been looking at some BOSS pedals too. I know that using real guitar/bass amp's for synths will limit the sonic rage due to the speakers and circuits not being able to handle all the frequencies. Does this apply to the effects too? Thanks,
Members eric
Maybe. Quite possibly. Probably time to quit and get a real job. Perhaps. Might be. Who knows. FX are gouda. Welcome to this thread.
Members Yoozer
my synth rig which consists of....? and want to use my Line 6 POD for chorus/reverb and have also been looking at some BOSS pedals too. Invest in a TC Electronic M300 or M350, they'll do the job better, it's cheap, good quality and they've got a simple user interface. Digitech or Lexicon (MX200) units are good too. With that you get phaser, chorus, flanger, compressor, several delays, several reverbs - all in one box instead of 10 noisy stompboxes, for the same price. Does this apply to the effects too? Most likely, yes. Guitar effects are usually only charming if you put a distortion stompbox on an analog monosynth.

Members nos
Absolutely. Guitar effects have an input capacitor and an output capacitor. These act as highpass filters with a rolloff that varies with the particular circuit/brand/effect. If you are handy with a soldering iron and reading a schematic, simply replace the in & out caps with larger values and you increase the bass response. Even if you don't have the schematic, the input cap and output cap are easy to find: they are the first cap after the input jack and the last cap before the output jack, respectively. Members yan_g
Thanks guys. This was for a prophet 08, Juno 106 and Ion. Wil the Line 6 POD also have the capacitor filter issue too?

Members wetwareinterface
the line 6 stuff are for amp simulating and as such wil have filtering to emulate the frequency drops of specific amps so yes it will degrade the signal. as mentioned just get a multi effects unit that is a rack. lexicon mx series, tc-electronic etc... old school and worth a lookyamaha mpx-90boss se-70alesis Q2ensoniq dp/
Members yan_g
Thanks! Of course amp simulation will tweak the sound but what if I bypassed this and only used the chorus and reverb? Otherwise, I will look at theo rack effects. Cheers.
