I had an Ensoniq ASR-10 repaired there back in '99. Don't know what the climate is like now but they're the main "Go-To" keyboard/synth repairshop in town and their work backlog is rather long, you might have to wait 2-4 weeks for your work to get done. They're not bad, it's just that they pretty much have the monopoly on synth repair in all of the Los Angeles area, so obviously they're not as motivated to do the best customer service, since they really have no competition. And though my repair was done perfectly, it was a simple board swap job that I could have even done myself.

They do have a side room where they sell unclaimed items...last time I was there they had an Emulator I in there.

Advanced are not the only game in town. Try giving GPS Electronics a call in Norwalk. They are my repair shop and are the best and will not rip you off. They are fairly priced.

As for ripoffs in the LA area, I dealt with Digitron electronics in 1998 and they charged me 150 dollars to change one broken hammer on an RD-500. Roland referred me there and Roland always charged about 30 dollars for the repair. I since learned how to fix those myself....and I can tell you with no power tools it was ten minutes to do it...and most of those minutes were just to unscrew and screw back on the screws. Ridiculous!
