Members Musubi01
In my pursuits to figure out the organ's dynamic sounds used alot in Lincoln Brewster's songs, I became interested in purchasing a volume pedal for use with my keyboard (PRO2), especially for organ and string sounds. Is the EB 25k is a good choice, since it is for active inputs? I was thinking the EB 6165 500K would provide more volume control...larger range of operation (big price difference $85/$165 and probably more geared for a guitar rather than a keybaord). Is there another way to control volume that I am not aware of yet beside the main volume slide...not keen on using the main volume slide, it takes a hand away from the keyboard while playing. Members Meatball Fulton
What's your keyboard? Most pro boards have inputs for an expression pedal. This is usually preferable to running the keyboard through an external volume pedal.
Members Musubi01
It is a General Music (GEM) PRO2. It has a damper, and two input pedal jacks. I assume you are saying I could just add another pedal thru input 1/2 and set it up to control the volume that way, instead of getting an volume pedal to run the sound through? This sounds good, it if helps keep the tone. Would any normal sustain pedal work? Jumping to another topic, could the same method be used for a delay pedal? Members Musubi01
Okay the learning curve is steep today. Which is recommended, Boss 500L Expression pedal or Alesis F2 Volume/Expression pedal? I am assuming the Alesis has a switch for keyboard/guitar mode? I am leaning a little towards the Alesis for multiple compatability and possible stronger material for structure...aluminum vs plastic.
Members Meatball Fulton
No, you want an expression pedal, which looks like a volume pedal but has only one connection rather than an input and output. Check the manual for your GEM to see what it says about using expression pedals.
Members pogo97
The great thing about an expression pedal is that it can be assigned to control volume or pretty much anything else you want. Much more here.
