Tuneing down for Timbre

When a person gets a little age on him or her the vocal chords deepen in timbre and range.

The higher register is not as easy on the throat. So what I did was tune down first a half step then after a few years went by a whole step down to D from standard.

D is my new standard and I can do most any song I want and it sounds normal.

No more strained high notes I just tune down.

I use slightly thicker strangs so they don't flop too much. instead of tens go eleven and so on.

I use medium strangs now.

Cool pic man but somebody cut your head off! LOL - but that aside, where was the gig? My vocals have gone down in timbre too over the years - at least that's what my brother tells me and he's brutally honest (dammmit).....

I was playing a WALMART parking lot. cough, cough...

Ahh the fumes of success.

The fumes of success smale a lot like exhaust fumes.

I was playing right beside the parking lot on the sidewalk for a charity thang just a few songs. it was kinda fun Folkes was standing on their cars all in the parking lot lookin at me doin my thing. And they did'nt leave till I stopped ahahaha!

I had to jump in the van and leave for a bit/ The axe is a MINT thirty year old COUNTREFEIT hummingbird I found for twenty bucks at a yard sale.

Played like a freakin' dream. sounded like pureness.

My girlfriend hocked it.

i forgave her.

I got a KAZUO yairi now. twenty years old. playes better than the fake hummingbird.

Ain't got the girl any longer either.

I really miss them both.

Dang...

Thanks fore letting me share
