Members Chicken Monkey
I'd like it if the vocal questions didn't come here. I always thought that the Backstage w/the Band forum would be a good place for vocal questinos.

Members Floophead3
definetely need this. Vocals are far more important than stupid things, like drummers.
Members blue2blue
definetely need this. Vocals are far more important than stupid things, like drummers. You know, having been physically attacked by one of my old drummers (right after getting out of 6 weeks of traction for a broken hip, femur and ankle) and tackled to the ground by him (easy to do, he weighed about 220 and I weighed about 110) -- hitting the floor right next to my walker -- yeah, there was a time when I might have somewhat sympathetic to that comment (which I realize was tongue in cheek, anyhow ). But I have to say that in the last couple decades -- being finally most of the way out of the punk rock scene and getting to know some really fine drummers I have to say that real drummers (you know, the kind who know what a drum key is and can kind of keep time and stuff?) are mostly really intelligent -- and I'd much rather go on a long backpacking trip with most of the drummers I've known in recent years than many of the lead guitarists I've known... (and I am a guitarist -- but frankly, I wouldn't really recommend going on a long backpacking trip with me, either, if you could avoid it. )
Members cherri
This has come up before. I don't know if there is enough activity (or new topics) about vocals to keep a whole forum busy. It's mostly the same three subjects that come up: - keeping the voice strong and healthy, favorite vocalists, and singing techniques.
Members RadiationNation
Definitely. I was always surprised there wasn't already one.

Members attic
When I first came on Harmony Central I was looking for a forum for vocalists. I actually think that there are a lot more things to say about vocals. For example: Singing gear, wireless or not, singing combined with instrument, vocal effect processors, condensor microphones, male vs female lead singers, backing vocals, using guitar effects/amps for vocals, vibrato or not, articulation/pronounciation, singing in different languages,... Goddamned, I could fill that forum all by myself.

(and I am a guitarist -- but frankly, I wouldn't really recommend going on a long backpacking trip with me, either, if you could avoid it. ) hehehe. i'd hang with [real] drummers over guitarists any day of the week. (especially after my experience in a jazz school as a guitarist) i found in general that good drummers have the tendency to support other drummers, whereas good guitarists still can't get past the competitive issues. oh....and to keep it on topic, a vocal forum sounds like a good enough idea, but i don't really see it being used heavily. go for it, though. it would be great to have a place to stick my head in and learn some real singing exercises from real singers; not just schleps like me who sing because they can't get anyone else to sing their {censored}! I always thought that the Backstage w/the Band forum would be a good place for vocal questinos. yeah...but i'll hold that this is the best forum in HC - and the most likely to get good, intelligent responses. backstage with the band is okay, but it's not as [what's the word?] community-oriented as this. vocal issues usually come with self-consciousness in the package and this is definitely a great place to expose your insecurities; as opposed to BWTB, ya know? it seems like people actually want to help here. Members naterz
Vocals are a HUGE component to music and they are an instrument in their own right; just like guitar/bass/percussion/keys, etc. If there are forums for these other instruments, why not vocals? nathan
