Members DevilRaysFan
I have an active '89 MIJ Fender Power Jazz Bass Special that I really like but recently it started acting funny (see pic). Basically, the tone control stopped working correctly and the bass eats a 9v battery within a 4-day span - even unplugged ( For me, they last 6 months to a year). I think something on the internal circuitboard isn't working anymore but Im just a novice/simple repair guy when it comes to bench electronics Ive tried to contact Fender but to no avail. Does anybody have any suggestions where I can take this bass for a repair? ( There is no one in my area) Thanks in advance
Members DougH
I don't know if a guitar repair guy in a store would fix it or just want to replace the whole amp. It is a simple preamp and would be able to be worked on by a regular electronics repair guy. Just tel him it's a preamp and he will know maybe where ot go from there. It may be cheaper just to replace the board though.
