Members wingfijm
Hello all! This is my first post here so here it goes:I have an old MarshalValvestate head that is on teh fritz. I want to salvage the spring reverb unit out of it. I have done some researach into a building a spring reverb tank to use as a stand alone unit. I have no expereince with schematics or electronics expect for a pickup repalcement nightmare that I had to have fixed. Plese examine my plan to tell my if it will work and if not, what changes need to be made. Guitar > 1/4" split into 2 RCA cables. RCA Output 1 goes straight into my PA mixer with a builtin power amp. RCA Output 2 goes into the spring reverb then out of the spinrg reverb into a second input on the pa mixer. I will use the pa mixer to blend the wet and dry signals and then run a line out of the pa mixer to my pedals then eventually to my guitar amp. Thanks in advance! Members Danocoustic
The reverb unit is going to need a preamp to drive its signal. Better study up on that schematics and electronics stuff
Members wingfijm
why wouldn't the pa mixer with a built in power amp drive the effect?
Members Danocoustic
why wouldn't the pa mixer with a built in power amp drive the effect? Hoo boy That would take an awful lot of 'splainin' to 'splain properly. It won't do it, trust me on this one.

Members angus_old
oh me too. i have this cut down univox head with reverb - it's just the preamp coming out, the power amp is disconnected, and the reverb doesn't work because of no power amp i guess
