Pin striping a guitar?

So I have a $800 Ibanez S and this summer I had to take it cross country and it was a big hassle to make sure it was locked up and to make sure it was were it was suppose to be. So I went to this local store and came across a Maestro SG for $140 and I figured that I could switch the pickup and still come out pretty cheap then someone suggested a little pin striping would look good. So is there a website I could get it or were sells it, and would it stick to a poly urethane finish?

You can buy rolls of different colors and sizes of pin stripe from most auto parts stores. It sticks to cars, it should stick to poly.
