Blackstar Ht-dual modifications ?

Hey everyone,

Ive got a Blackstar HT-Dual pedal which I love , channel one with the crunch button on is one the best rhythm crunch tones Ive found anywhere.

My problem is once I dial in the sound I like on Channel 1 , Channel 2 is always way too bassy.

Does anyone know of any mods to reduce the bass on Channel 2 , can I swap a diode or cap or what ever for a different value ?

No way of giving you any advice.

You either need a schematic, or you need to be an experienced tech who knows what he's looking

at when he looks inside. I tried to google a schematic for you but the closest I came up with was

someone in another forum who had drawn his own schematic. The manufacturer doesnt supply them

saying there are no user replacable parts inside.

In any case, its a complex pedal with over a hundred parts, and it runs the tube at 300V.

Its not something you want an amature dorking around in there not knowing what he's doing.

The board may be multi layered, there may be micro components on the board and soldering

may require high magnification. I just dont know for sure without seeing the inside and seeing whats there.

In some pedals you can modify the tone stacks. In others the tone stack is common to both channels.

If you modify one channel it affects both.

Best thing I can advise is use the amps EQ to dial up what you need.

You can also try different 12AX7 tubes and see what that does. Since its a high voltage design, the

tubes should have a big impact on your tone.

If neither work, then sell it and find a pedal that will do what you want.
