Members AdaaaMM
a while back i posted my bands myspace just for so people could comment on my vocals. basically i was getting "Typical emo, whining vocals." That was all on this http://myspace.com/blindfoldsasiderock Yesterday i made a myspace for my two-man acoustic band, a completely different feel from the hardcore band, and generally less whiny vocals? (i hope) please check it out here cna critique: http://myspace.com/coventrywoodway NOTE: there are two vocalists in the acoustic band. Listen to "Maybe someday" (the first song) my voice starts the first line of the chorus at 1:25 "we came here to find a better place" is my voice, after that chorus my verse starts and in my opinion it sounds pretty good for what i usually do. Again, If you want to just skip to my verse it's at 1:53 thanks in advance!!!

Personally I think those people that talked {censored} were just jealous, scared, or simply don't know how to act like an adult nor carry themselves with tact/professionalism. That's what it comes down to... Singing better than someone else, who responds in such a way that denigrates your character tells you something, and the way you dealt with it tells me you've got depth...something THEY didn't:wave:

I have been singing most of my life and have a good ear for what I consider a quality vocal. if others mentioned "Whiney" they would be referring to that modern pop sound that irritates us older folk who grew up listening to the great singers of our youth. There is a band, the name of which escapes me that epitomizes this "whiney" sound which is obviously popular since so many are using it. In this song I'm thinking of, two guys are singing two part harmony pretty much at the top of their range. The whininess is really noticible when they end with the word "Purr.....fect". I often wonder how guys with this sound get contracts because it never would have happened in my day. The two of you have pretty decent voices and probably have the potential to rise above this "whiney" kind of sound and be really different. In modern music top quality vocal work is often not the strength of the genre that you are working in. I would encourage you to keep singing because their is a good quality vocal sound waiting to develop especially if you concentrate on the acoustic stuff. Nice guitar work by the way. Keep on singing guys! I like the tune! Dropping the key a tone would avoid any straining on the higher notes. God Bless, Don
Members AdaaaMM
Thanks for the compliments. I wish more than two people would give this thread a try though haha. I'm looking forward on doing a lot more acoustic stuff aside from the hardcore band. thanks again

People can be fickle. You stated previously you have a strong following... Most people in this thread can't say that.

Members flip333
This is nice. Creative, energetic. I like it. Do I detect a modern christian rock influence? Emo yes; that's OK. It sounds like that is your intention and plenty of people like that sound. You're young, so sing young. When you're 35, you may choose to use a less "teenager-ish" inflection. I'm pretty old school, but I like "Drive" by Incubus, which has the emo flavor. Good side project!
