Members Guitzilla
I have a somewhat complicated question. I have Sonar 3, and reason adapted. I use acidized drum loops for my drum tracks. I want to know how I can take the single shots and turn them into samples so that I can make my own drum fills. I found a used set of Roland Vdrums that i might grab if I can get this figured out. What suggestions do you have for gear or techniques to accomplish this? Thanks,Brian
Members scapier
I think this is tricky. I tried it a few years ago and gave up. Just cut and paste the individual hits in acid and cut and paste them around from there. It's quicker than finding the long workaround you propose. I know I wish I could do it too. Perhaps I'm wrong, and anyways my version of acid is one version off. Spencer
Members Zooey
I've tried that, and it's good for an effect, but it's nothing you would want as your main drum sound. Remember that the notes will only ring out as long as the space between hits in the loop. The snare and kick will be unnaturally short. I would take the suggestion above and skip trying to build a kit of one hit samples out of a loop. Just zoom into the loop, chop it up on the beats using the "Split" command, and drag the chunks around until you have a fill.
Members Guitzilla
Thanks guys! I was wondering if I might have been making things too complex. I'm fairly new to using loops and appreciate your input.Brian
