Members scapier Posted May 21, 2009 Members Share Posted May 21, 2009 Many of you are probably aware of this compressor, but I just thought I'd pass one my sense of this one. I just bought it from Vintage King for $1300USD. It was this or a Manley ELOP, but after a friend said to get something that you can totally hear working on your signal I went for the ADL. It really balls out the vocal I can tell you! It has a definite punch but also a nice tube distorty thing on the higher harmonics. You could over do it for sure but as a very useful tool in the drawer for vocals, bass and other stuff I highly recommend it for the project studio tracker. Sure you could spend three times as much for another boutique comp but this one has the thang, and $1300 isn't a devestation to one's bank account.
