Members weeman Posted August 22, 2009 Members Share Posted August 22, 2009 Im going too attempt to purchase one on ebay tomorrow. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this unit. Basically i don't get time to record real kits so im going to use this at band rehearsals to test out microphone techniques with my drummer as a learning process. Im going to hook up my focusrite otopre le to the unit for pre's and then send the tracks via adat into protools later for mixing. Il be using headphones for monitoring on location. Members BrainChild Posted August 24, 2009 Members Share Posted August 24, 2009 I have used a friends unit a few times. It actually sounds pretty good even with a 58 straight into it. It is fairly simple to use and he prefers it over the computer setup he has because of the ease. It took me a little while to figure out the importing into my computer using my Motu interface as the way it is done is not straightforward. Also I have to line up the tracks after importing as I can only import 8 at a time and the second set of 8 are slightly off. I hope its fully working by the time i get it. Cant i hook the unit up using MTC as a slave too say a DAW then tell the daw to play back the VF16 and record the ADAT at the same time.
