But I do like Torinos. What's up with the bumper on that blue '73? Isn't there supposed to be a rubber strip on the front of it or something? It looks like a snowplow.

Maximum chrome!

Whether it's relevant or not, I do recall a law on the books in the State Of Oregon (probably in a lot of places) that forbids chroming more than 15% of your automobile's body panels due to visibility/blinding sun reasons.

As if anyone in the State Of Oregon even knows what the sun looks like...

I love '73 Torinos. Cool car. I'd even take the Ranchero built off that body style.
;)

The blue one above looks schwweeeeeeeet.
:thu:

I think the '73 is hideous, but a bassist d00d i used to jam with once had a Ranchero off that platform. 351C or a 400 (can't remember which) with a big Holley on it and it was a fast car. I sold him a set of wheels and tires off my '66 Fairlane which he promptly smoked up.

He got that car to replace his black 1968 Coupe Deville which I think he wrecked, but that was the stoner/musician ride if I ever saw one. (Well, except for a 1970s Cheech van).

He was an interesting individual. I wonder what he's doing now.

I think the '70 is the best looking one but the '72 is a pretty muscular looking ride as well. I have to agree on the '73. I think that was the beginning of the downward slide for the American automotive industry.

I had a '69 Sedan deVille (472ci with a carb the size of a washing machine) in high school and college. That was an incredible party vehicle. No prob getting 12 kids in there.

Agreed on the downward slide bit. There were a few gems here and there, but for the most part, bleh...

It's a good thing you could pack 12 ppl into that DeVille. Not only was the carb the size of the washing machine, but probably had the same gpm, so 12 contributors to the gas fund is good. ;)

Fantasticsound:

I've seen a '64 Fairlane convertible running around Kenosha, you know. Bright Canary F*cking Hot Rod Yellow but that's obviously not the factory color. It was once in a line (probably carshow related) with a '64 Thunderbolt (drool) a '65 Falcon (drool) and a '68 Galaxie fastback, along with some misc. '71 Chevelles, shoeboxen and other unimportant cars.

The car was a 1961 or 62 Ford Fairlane 500 convertable. That '64 must be sweet. The next car my parents bought was a gold, mid-'60's Galaxy. :thu:

I'm a big fan of mid-late 1960's Corvettes, all the 1960's Mustangs, most Camaros, Firebirds, Chevelles, GTO's, Chargers, etc.

I'd love to score a 1969 SC Rambler. My dad had the pedestrian, base Rambler and something about that plain, boxy appearance appeals to me. It was 1980 or so before I knew they built an extremely rare run of SC Ramblers that were as fast or faster than most any more popular muscle car of the day. :thu:

1969, IMO, was a magical style year for almost every muscle car body style. :thu:
