Midi/Drum contoller HELP!!!

I just bought a Boss DR670 drum machine on ebay. I want to use this onstage (I do like a coffee shop "one man band" thing) and switch between songs in whatever order I choose. Does anyone know if an ADA MC1 foot controller will do this? I know very little about midi. The ADA has a midi out, but no input. The Boss has both out and in.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

In the Midi protocol there is a "Song Select" message that can be used to select different songs in a seqencer device.

However - whether both midi devices support this at all, or in a manner that is acceptable to you, is another story.

The maker of each device should publish a midi implementation chart that should tell you at a glance whether it can use this message.

If all else fails, read the manuals. For both devices.

From what I can see about the ADA, i'm thinking not.

Didn't Rolls make something like this?

What about a used Peavey PC1600? Ihave seen them cheap, but they are getting rare..

Thee are tons of ways to do this, but all require uoboard gear unless you want to build only sequences of songs. An old laptop and a MIDI interface are probably the cheapest and most flexible path to what you really want, but beware, you are opening the Pandoras Box of tech music stuff.
