Where did you find the HP200TW? Used? I say this because I'm almost certain that Tama discontinued it and replaced it with the Iron Cobra, Jr. Anyways, your best bet is to try out all the twin pedals that you can and decide which you like best... everyone has their personal preferences. I actually have the HP200TW and am pretty happy with it. Since I started off playing on a Tama HP pedal, I just got used to the feel of it and prefer it to most other pedals. They're durable enough for gigging, so they shouldn't break on you. The only problem I've had with mine is that a bolt fell off during packing/traveling but I just replaced it with another from the hardware store. Members Yokozuna
Some people rather play cheap Tama Camco's than Iron Cobra's. A cheap ass pedal (with single metal chains) with good settings plays better than Axis X2 pedals with bad tuning/settings. I have an Iron Cobra pedal now. It's a kind of hot item. A lot of drummers buy these pedals nowadays, I mentioned.... But do they really play better then those cheaper pedals? Nah, they only are build more carefully, have full ground plates on both pedals and can give u some more settings. But really, tuning/setting your pedals is much more important than the mark. your best bet is to try out all the twin pedals that you can and decide which you like best... everyone has their personal preferences. That's not 100% true, pedals are all tuned some different, so don't think it's about the pedal. The most pedals can be played very efficient, just with good settings! I would just take the pedal that can be tuned just the way you want it to be. Looking at this point the Iron Cobra really makes chance, becouse it has lots of setting possibilities. Members ssjstaph
Yes Yokozuna, JR's. The regular Iron Cobra's are the HP900 i think, while the HP200 is the Iron Cobra JR. Well i can't speak for the Hp200tw double bass pedal, i can speak for the single pedal. i personally think it is a great pedal that is very easy to tune to your likeing. It won't break on you, or at least it hasn't for me. And it is a real step up from some bottom line stuff. But remember, i am only talking from experience with Single, not double. jp

Members Dash OH drummer
Screw the double bass pedal, just get fast on the single For some reason double bass pedals always seemed like cheating
Members Chabo
Well, there is some stuff that definately cannot be played on a single. There's some other stuff which guys who have been playing for 40 years might be able to do with a single, but other than that it's unplayable. Real foot skill is both being able to adaquately use the hi-hat pedal and double bass.

The Tama Camco double pedal is $299. As opposed to the Iron Cobra which is $270.

Members Sam Kessler
i started a thread in july about my double bass pedal. Yes it is the iron cobra jr. I love it. It is extremely smooth. To answer your questions about why it is a "JR", is that the regular iron cobra has a lot more features on it. These include:-Better beaters )but i actually like the bigger beaters that come on the JR's.)-Toe stop (i never saw the use)-Nicer attachment to the bass drum.(the one on the JR is still nice and wont harn the rim)-2 Drum key things. (They have an allen wrench and drum key that can be used to adjust the pedal)-Dual chain drive.(single drive is just as good imo.) These are all the options the Iron Cobra has over the JR. Members Matchbox Killer
I have the DW 3000 double bass pedal and I love it. I also found out that I play the bass drum better when I'm wearing my converse, instead of wearing running shoes (which is what I had been doing before the shoe change).
