Members sekler
Hi guys, I recently bought a used rockstar kit, for the price, it was a great deal. I think I got a fusion set : my toms are 8.5'',10.5'' and 12.5''my floortom is 14.5'' and my snare too, I also have a 23'' bassdrum. my question...is what is the difference in term of sound between these 2 kits ? my friend told me there wasn't any except that the standard kit is bigger. It's hard for me to beleive this..eventhough we can tune them how we want the to sound, smaller toms should be able to reach higher notes right ? who is right ? and what would be the difference if there are any other things I forgot to think about ? I play mostly metal and some rock...so I wonder if I'm ok with that kit....BTW, I need to change most of my heads...so the drum sounds not at it's best, and tuning is a lil bad..except for the snare, bassdrum and floortom that is ok. thanks ! Members HulkBlood01
Yes the only difference is the sizes. It really doesn't matter what kind of music you play; you can always change the heads/tune them differently to suit your needs.....and are you so sure of the .5's in your measurements....?? They should only be whole numbers. I'm not so sure of the bass drum either...and as far as I know a smaller drum is more capable of a higher pitch. I'd tune my floor tom up to try that out....but i think thats a bad idea. I got a rockstar fusion a year ago, and its fine for metal. I don't really get that...like the guitar, it doesn't really matter what you have; you can still play whatever style you want. My point is..the drums will be fine. Members stapes2260
yeah you have an 8" , 10", 12" and 14" sizes and a 22" bass. They don't make bass drums in odd sizes nor do they make toms with an extra half inch.
