I think I know how to tune a snare & toms, but how do you tune the bass drum? Same way? 2. What's the difference between the nylon tip sticks and wood tip sticks? Is it strictly a feel type thing? Is one type of stick better for certain music than the other? 3. Being right handed, what is the typical setup? Where does the ride cymbal go? 4. What is the purpose of the China cymbal? Is it like a crash that gives different tones? Are the splash & China similar? I will be taking formal lessons soon, but I don't want to look like a total putz when the time comes.
