Members Crusher
Guys, Looking to get a double pedal for my Tama Superstar kit. I have the Tama single pedal and like the quality and feel. Is the Iron Cobra Tama double bass pedal just as good? I assume it's like anything else, that you get what you pay for? Any other recommendations? Thanks

Members ArtVandelay
Iron Cobra is a Tama brand and represents Tama's high-end pedals. Therefore, yes, an Iron Cobra should be as good as your Tama pedal. If it's not, than something's seriously wrong. If you like the feel of the Tama pedal and want a double pedal, then get a Tama or Iron Cobra double pedal. Can't go wrong. Though I love my Yamaha Flying Dragon double pedal. Members Drummer Mike
I started with your same Tama single pedal and switched to the Iron Cobra double pedal. Big improvement. As the others said, you can't go wrong with the Iron Cobras. You probably have the basic Roadpro tama hihat stand with your Superstars. The Iron Cobra pedal #2 will fit under that stand next to your hihat pedal, but you'd be better off if you could upgrade your hihat stand to the Iron Cobra stand. Not a must, but something you should consider -- it's a better setup that way.
Members MaineEvent
I'll second the Yamaha Flying Dragon Direct Drive pedal.I love mine. I bought the expensive pearl eliminator and never got it to feel very comfortable or fast. Always was sluggish to me. love the yamaha.I have a pearl kit.. lol im not just a yamaha gear head. Members El Glom-o
I went for the Axis A2 because its solid link drive felt most like the Speed King that I was replacing.
Members liar2
I like the tama pedals alright. They're solid, but I do believe that there are better out there. I've gotten to play with my friend's DW9000 and that thing is smooth as silk. Feels much nicer to me than the iron cobras. When I get my first double bass pedal, it will probably be a DW5000. They're smooth, just not as nice as the 9000.

They are really smooth just like you said. My friend had an Iron Cobra and it was really nice too but, having played both the 9002 is just the bomb... plus the I like the DW beaters way better than the flat Iron Cobra beaters... but you could always replace those if you needed to.
