Members almightycrunch
My daughter who turns four today, has turned into a drum freak. My wife had me burn her a compilation CD for the van one day, very diverse and strange stuff on it, Carly Simon, Guns and Roses, Black-eyed peas, Shakira, Rush, Collective Soul, Dr Dre, etc. My daughter sat in her carseat and decided that she loved Rush, and began air drumming to Fly By Night, funniest thing you ever saw, got the timing down pat, goes for the big cymbal crash at the end of the run and the whole nine yards, Neil Peart, whodathunkit??? Anyways, all she has been asking for is a drumset for Christmas. I tried to order the Ludwig junior kit from MF, but they were backordered until February, and so was everyone esle who supplied those kits, so I went onto Ebay and bought this kit from Global Percussion. It is fantastic!!!!!! full kit, nicely finished in metallic deep red, basswod shells, two rack toms, floor tom 16" kick drum, hihats, crash cymbal, Had my drumer come over last night and we tuned it all up, thing sounds beautiful, he was impressed for 149.00 it was a steal. Nuhter musician in the family COOL!!!!

Members Duardo
I had a similar experience...my three and a half-year-old son had developed a big interest in the drums as well, and he'd gone through two of those $20 plastic kits so last Christmas we figured we might get him one of those junior kits. What we actually wound up with was a First Act kit we got pretty cheap with a coupon at Toys R Us. It's not a junior kit, but it's not quite full sized...it's got a 12" snare, 18" kick, a 10" rack tom and a 13" floor tom, also in a metallic red finish. And it sounds decent. A couple weeks ago we decided to have band practice at the guitarist's house rather than mine, and I didn't really feel like packing up my kit, so I asked him if I could borrow his and took it and it actually sounded pretty good. I'd bet it would sound even better with "real" heads on it. I did take a few of my own cymbals, however...the ones it came with were not good at all. I'm proud of my son, though...when we first set it up for him last Christmas he hit the crash cymbal, made a weird face and looked at it funny and said "is that a China cymbal"? Good boy. -Duardo
