Not a single pic or mention of Jason Bonham or his father in the whole article or in the pictures... a travesty!!

I could give a rat's ass who came to see the show ({censored} the Gallgher brothers, {censored} Jeff Beck, {censored} Joe Elliot, {censored} Mick {censored}in' Jagger, {censored} Marilyn Manson, {censored} Pink.... well, ok, that's a worthy idea, heh), or the Buffalo Bill-lookin' singer from some Zep tribute act that performed for the people in line... 23 pictures, and all of maybe 6 are from the show itself... {censored}in' blah!

SHOW ME THE SHOW, NOT THE DAMNED RED CARPET!!!

looks like there were several cameras going, including a steady-cam rig.

Wonder if we can hope for a DVD?

Kashmir VIDEO:

Thanks for posting this, nothing sounds too displeasing. I wish I was there. I think Led Zeppelin will always be my favorite rock band of all time and I'm glad they did this. Page looks so different sporting the white hair. After watching that video I noticed that Youtube has about every other song as well. God bless youtube!

Did you know there were over a million requests for tickets!!! They had to start a lottery to see who actually would get the seats. I still say they could have made a bazillion $ on pay per view. And a DVD and a world tour. But I bet the TV ratings on Monday would have taken a bath. Does anybody know what else was on TV the night the beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan? ... I didn't think so!!!

Carmine, Et Al:

I don't know how much footage you got in the States, but Zep made the national news broadcast here last night, and there was a fair amount of footage. What they showed, first and foremost, is that Jason was absolutely right to be onstage with the band. From what I could see, he was playing like a man possessed , even getting huge grins from Plant, Page and even Jones at one occasion. Jason's his own man on drums, but its so blatantly obvious where the ' bloodline' is, how could it be any other way. Yes, they did change some of the keys to make it easier for Plant to sing, but he was in fine voice, and Kashmir sounded as good as ever. I don't think there was enormous pressure for them to ' measure up' to their past, I mean, who could? What they did pull off was an emotional , solid show with a crowd that was egging them on through force of will. They showed the intro and when the band hit the stage, the house mics clipped with the screaming going on. To paraphrase Plant last night, they did indeed pull it off.

Here's the $64,000.00 question though. If, judging by the reception, the critical raves, and the subsequent millions they're going to make on the DVD sales, do they tempt fate and tour? Lord knows, I won't lie. I had a ticket to see Zep in Montreal when it was announced that Bonham died, so were they to play, it would be like closing off an open thread. But, like I said, SHOULD they tour? One showcase show, in front of an emotional crowd like that, with the knowledge that it is only one show and not one of 50, they could go full tilt. I'm almost sure, judging by the clips I saw that they were feeding off of Jason's (relatively ) youthful energy, and that, like his dad, he drove the band. As much as I would gladly stand in line to get a ticket to that show ( that and a REAL Genesis reunion with Gabriel, Hackett, Rutheford, Collins, And Banks) It would be with trepidation, in that if they went for it on a large scale, would they have the stamina to pull it off?

Thoughts??

Point us to the clips Knight, it's barely making the news here where I am. The only thing I saw, seemed to say these guys were having fun. If I know rock n roll, they'll be like sports guys who hate to hang it up. George Foreman made how many comebacks?

Personally speaking, what little I saw, I think they could do it again except for Plant. Page and JPJ seemed like they had been off for only a month or two, rather than decades. And you have to remember, they decided to close up shop under painful circumstances. I think it might bring some life back to them, as well as to Rock n Roll again. I know we can't go back, but can imagine the release of a new album with ALL new material? They sold 300 million copies before...how many do you think they'd sell with good new stuff. Maybe even stuff that reflects today's progressive styles!!! I'd definitely buy that! :thu:

Just been watching a couple of the clips (Kashmir & Stairway), & OK, they look old these days (probably because they are), but the old moves are still there, & they can certainly show the "kids" how it should be done ;)

I remember Jimmy Page saying a few years ago (one time when the subject of a reunion came up), & he said he always thought they had at least one more album in them, so maybe now we'll get it.

Mraia...if you want to see a class act...here goes from the BBC. An interview with a truly genuine article...Jimmy Page

All I can say ids that even though there was tight security on tickets, they must have been really laxed on video equipment. So far I've caught about 5 tunes on youtube. And Jason looks confident and is thumpin! :thu:

Hey guys:

just a heads up that the gang over at Warner Bros/Atlantic are lowering the boom on Youtube....far as I can tell they've yanked all the Zep clips from the 02 show...inevitable, I guess:freak: Especially given the mostly positive reviews, can the DVD Concert be far behind? Not to mention possibly selling the show at local theatres as a PPV, and god knows how many ways they can milk this until Plant gets bored touring with Alison Krauss and then of COURSE the ' limited World Tour' will happen, perhaps touching down in certain cities only to maximize the crowd sizes and the revenue streams, along with merchandise, etc....Am I cynical? just a tad. not cynical about the music, of course but the BUSINESS of music.:blah::cop::freak:
