Members mraia
So I was at my local shop today, scouting out new cymbals. The store has a soundproof cymbal room, with a basic 4 piece so you can try the pies out. The bass had a Remo Powersonic, and there was a Gibralter double pedal. Well, I never heard such a monstrous bass sound, and never peeled off faster doubles!! Holy {censored}! I dont know if it was the pedal, or the head, but man, It sounded and felt fantastic! Ima gonna pick up that head, for sure. I already have Pearl Eliminators, which I suppose are equal, if not better than the Gibralter, but still...! I need to make some adjustments or something, because I fell in love with the sounds I was making. Anybody else have an experience with the Remo Powersonic or the Gibralter Pedals? Members WhiplashBand
A buddy of mine has an Intruder double pedal that I've jammed on a couple times. Not a bad pedal, but I think I'm too used to my Pearl's to wanna switch to anything else.
Members Walt Disney
It's gonna sound very different in your own space, on your drums.
Members cearleywine
I actually use both of those. I didn't like the powersonic at first, but then I figured out that the pillow snaps off and sounds awesome. The pedal was perfect at first but the slave spring seemed to wear a little faster than I was expecting. Not a big deal to adjust of course. I have the strap drive version. Honestly I believe you should try some different adjustments on your pearl, those pedals are fantastic.
Members LowPhreak
Yep, if you have Elim's, I'd say they're adjustable enough that you should be able to replicate any feel that the Gibraltar's have and then some. I can't imagine not being able to get a response on my Elim strap drive that almost anyone wouldn't like.
Members Jarick
I'd imagine it's similar to the EMAD, which is a monster. If it has the Remo warmth, it'd be even better. And if it doesn't fall apart like the EMAD, it'll be the best kick head ever
