Members jenksdrummer
What is good, yet cheap? I'd love to have bags that have a hard shell they can insert into, but, that's a pipe-dream (or expensive!) SKB is the only one I can think of, though there's Anvil and some others, but those get $$$ fast...
Members k bollox
used is the cheapest option, but I have Humes & Berg Enduro cases.

Members SkiAz4Free
I went with the Road Runners from GC and got 'em all for $100 (8, 10, 12, 14-snare, 14-floor, & 22) They're not the best thing out there by any standards, but they work. If you are looking for complete protection go with a case.

Members sunspot
Yeah, you're right. I did the same comparison I went with the bag to reduce weight. I was going to stack the bags inside each other like I've done with other bags, but these things are so plush inside, I just zip them up and carry them. Do you absolutely have to have cases? Protection Racket makes a good bag too:thu:
Members rotgutt
Humes and Berg drumseekers are about as heavy duty as you can get without going to hard shell cases.
Members k7mto
For my Performer gig kit, I'm using the Beato Pro III Cordura's - got a 5 pc set on sale for $109 (normally almost $200). They are great bags for the price and well suited for the gig kit. I have Starcast mounts, so I use the next size up bag for each drum which makes them much easier to bag/unbag, eg... 10" tom in 12" bag12" tom in 13" bag13" tom in 14" bag14" tom in 16" bag16" tom in 18" bag When I buy my new Bubingas or DW's (still on the fence) I'll definetely go with SKB hard cases and likely won't gig them much anyway.
